Weltgeist : The Physiognomy of MBTI Types

Physiognomy is the study of determining personality from the body, this is controversial, but easily proven.

We collect information from everything we see, rocks, buildings, trees. With this information we can come to conclusions on the nature of things, and then make judgements based on those conclusions. There is no reason to think this principle does not apply to something as complex as the face, which has evolved to convey information.

You came to the conclusion that he has Down Syndrome just by looking at him. That is because Down Syndrome is when there is an extra chromosome, and with so much novel genetic material it gives unique personality traits along with facial features.

The facial features themselves are not the cause of personality, but there is a correlation.

Important observations

Europeans have the highest individuality of all peoples. This individuality is expressed through idiosyncratic traits being amplified. For example, a European ISTJ will look more ISTJ than an East Asian ISTJ, because his ancestors went through more selection that favoured diversity within populations.

The same principle applies to men. Women select from a small pool of men to mate with, and so the evolutionary strategy of men is to stand out, this shows itself in the greater diversity of appearance that men have. Therefore I have only used European men as examples, so that each types nuances can be appreciated fully.

Finally, the last example for each type comes from Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and has been used to show how each types features have unconsciously been translated into Art.
